“I chose to become a physician because I love interacting with people, and I want to make a positive contribution to the lives of others. Once I started my surgical rotation in medical school, I knew right away that I wanted to be a surgeon. I found it challenging and stimulating, and I enjoyed the variety of cases involved. However, the most appealing aspect to me is that surgery is a very direct and immediate way of contributing to people’s lives. People come with a real need and leave with a resolution. Today, I still enjoy the challenges and variety, and I know no greater reward or personal satisfaction than making a positive difference for others.

Dr. Heath is active in the lives of her family and is very involved in church activities. In her spare time, she enjoys skiing, reading, playing tennis, and bicycling.
