Why patients trust us

A surgical practice built over generations

Surgical Clinic Associates has cared for Mississippi patients since 1946. What has not changed is the way we practice: careful evaluation, honest conversation, and surgery only when it is the right answer.
  • Serving Mississippi since 1946

Nearly eight decades of surgical care for families across the Jackson metropolitan area and central Mississippi.

  • Board-certified surgeons

Our surgeons are certified or board-eligible through the American Board of Surgery, and several are Fellows of the American College of Surgeons.

  • Robotic and minimally invasive surgery

Many procedures can be performed through small incisions using laparoscopic and robotic techniques.

  • Six clinic locations

Consultations in Jackson, Flowood, Forest, Carthage, Yazoo City, and Vicksburg, so care stays close to home.

  • Broad general surgery experience

From hernias and gallbladders to breast, thyroid, colorectal, pancreatic, and vascular access procedures.

What to expect

A surgical consultation, step by step

Being referred to a surgeon does not mean an operation has already been decided. Here is how a visit with us usually unfolds.
  1. Your diagnosis is reviewed

Your surgeon reviews your history, exam, imaging, and lab results, then explains in plain language what has been found.

  2. Your options are explained

Not every condition needs an operation. Your surgeon talks through the reasonable choices, including non-surgical ones.

  3. A recommendation is made

If surgery makes sense, you will hear which procedure is recommended, why it fits your situation, and what it involves.

  4. You prepare with support

Our staff walks you through preparation instructions, scheduling, insurance questions, and what to bring.

  5. You know what comes next

Before you leave, you will know what to expect on the day of your procedure and how recovery and follow-up work.

Emergency symptoms need immediate care

Severe or sudden abdominal pain, high fever, chest pain, or trouble breathing should be evaluated right away. Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room instead of waiting for an office appointment.
